The story of the Haunted Barn is ever changing, ever evolving...

From stories of children brutally murdered in the late 1800’s to more recent stories of disappearances and strange happenings within and around the Barn, one never knows what one might stumble across.

Tormented spirits of young girls lurking within the boundaries of the property…as if they are either unable to escape or perhaps just don’t want to. The stalker from last night’s horror movie.  A frightening ghoul you’ve never before encountered.  While you tour the barn, trails and additional inside Haunt you suddenly feel a strange sensation… the fun, made up entertainment has very suddenly taken on a realistic twist.  Unknown characters appear and disappear. Is that a just young girl, or is possessed with the tormented ghost of another poor girl from years past.

The power of evil and the transient energy of those no longer with us suddenly take over, lending a more realistic twist to a journey in which you should never get too comfortable within your surroundings. Whereas one character may speak to you in jest, the next may be speaking to you from beyond. As you enter The Haunted Barn and witness several different categories of horror, torment and mayhem, we urge you to not let yourself get too close to the characters and souls within, as they have been known to attach themselves to those they aren’t quite ready to let go of…yet.

We will set the stage for another month of terror, in the hopes that you will keep our little friends entertained as much as they entertain you. Your favorite slasher characters come to life before your eyes…are you their next victim?  Several of our guests have felt the closeness of this reality, and those who are not paralyzed in fear and tears may find themselves in a pool of their own bodily fluids.

Every year The Haunted Barn brings in thousands of victims, and with that comes more evil and creepy characters to deal with. Some may speak to you, some may not…as those who have no tongue can speak no evil. Whether you seek an adrenaline rush or simply enjoy laughing at your friends, you are sure to find what you seek within the Barn.  But listen…is it your laughter you hear, or that of those who have enjoyed toying with you while you are here? Are the tears in your eye those of laughter and joy…or those of fear and terror?  If you make it through the entire journey…which many have not…you are guaranteed to remember your night at “The Haunted Barn”.

As I was going up the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today...
Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

One need not be a chamber to be haunted; one need not be a house. The brain has corridors surpassing Material place. - Emily Dickinson

"I should warn you, princess: The first time tends to get a little... messy."- Freddy Krueger

One by one you’ll try to leave, til the souls band together on Hallows eve. Your fears will find you in this place, by ghouls and monsters in your face. When at which time you think it’s mud, you’re standing in a pool of Blood.  - Larry Twining (The Haunted Barn)

Here are a few rules to remember for having a great time at the Haunted Barn

  1. Sacrifice a virgin. Well, not a real sacrifice - we mean, take someone who has never been to the Haunted Barn before. Let the host know and give them the newbie's name. The characters get a kick out of it and eerily call out the person's name throughout the journey.
  2. Scream for no reason. Sometimes this throws the characters off.
  3. Push the most frightened person to the front. It guarantees you that your journey will creep through at a snail's pace.
  4. Wear fitted clothing. Loose clothing makes it too easy for someone to grab a hold of you when they get scared.
  5. Use the bathroom ahead of time. There's nothing worse than being frightened with a full bladder.
  6. Leave the glasses at home. If you have contacts, wear those instead. In one haunted house, a woman in my group got spooked, threw her hands up and knocked my glasses off. I almost went "kill, kill, kill, kill, kill . . . " on her.
  7. Jeans and sneakers will do. Some of these haunted houses (and Barns) require you to crawl, slide, scrape up against dirty walls, so leave the 3-inch heels and suede jackets at home. Who are you trying to impress - Michael Myers?
  8. Dress warm. As it gets closer to Halloween, the lines will get longer, and it may require you to stand in a line outside.

WANT MORE FEAR?

Need more fear? Who doesn’t?
Not scared enough yet? Who is?
Make it a haunting evening and visit all 3 haunts in the Triangle of Terror!

After visiting The Haunted Barn also visit The Fright Factory in Janesville and Dr. S.Cary's Haunted House at Jellystone Fort in Fort Atkinson.

If you feel it’s too far to go to visit one of us than plan a haunt night and come visit all 3 of us!! It will be worth the trip, if you can handle all the fear, terror, scares and evil of 3 Haunted Houses. Plan your evening of terror ahead of time.
